Yamaha Corporation Headquarters Head Office

Yamaha Corporation Headquarters

Yamaha Corporation Headquarters is an office building in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka, Japan. The twelve-story steel structure rests on a seismic isolation system and reaches a maximum height of about 59 meters. A symmetrical double-skin curtain wall stands on a stable podium and emphasizes verticality. A pilotis space, a two-story atrium and a planted upper terrace support interaction. Ventilation windows provide natural airflow.

Learning Landscape Primary School

Learning Landscape

Three elements inspired by nature, named the Mountain, the Valley and the Beach, organize the terraced levels. Dongtou Passenger Port is a cruise terminal located at Tantou Mountain Bay in Dongtou, China. The terminal links urban and scenic areas. Guided by the concept of symbiosis of mountain and sea, terraced setback buildings and planted slopes form a three dimensional space. The design connects the mountains and the coastline lengthwise and includes an 800 meter commercial and waterfront belt across the site. Transport, commercial and ecological corridors are placed on separate levels. A curved concrete shell structure, inspired by seashell forms, keeps the interior free of columns.

Circle Xinqiao Expatriate Children School

Circle

The Circle is an international school in Hefei Airport New Area, China. The school includes a kindergarten, a primary school and a middle school, with ninety classes across a building area of 40,000 square meters. In response to the park and lake view to the west and the oval shape of the site, the building opens toward the park in an embracing gesture. School life is arranged around a central sports field, so most rooms gain a wide view. The kindergarten stands as a separate building. Highly modular construction limits the number of module types and shortens building time.

Guangming Public Service Platform

Guangming Public Service

Guangming Public Service is a government office and public service building in Shenzhen, China. The building is divided into two blocks with distinct forms. The upper rectangular volume contains offices, while the lower block holds a public service hall with an undulating roof shaped like a mountain range. Two small hills on the site are preserved, which reduces excavation and extends the surrounding green landscape. The plan avoids the enclosed layout that is common in Chinese government buildings. The design follows a green development mode with low impact.
