Il Pausa House Private Home

Il Pausa House

Il Pausa House is a private residence built in Jakarta, Indonesia. The design uses a parametric system to define both the geometry and the structure. Sculptural interventions on the facade create tension between contrasting elements, while the interior offers fluid transitions between spaces in horizontal and vertical directions. The size and position of the facade openings follow a detailed solar study, view axes and occupant height, so natural light is spread evenly inside. The entrance is set above street level and welcomes visitors on arrival.

House in Mise Private Home

House in Mise

House In Mise is a renovation of a traditional Japanese rural residence located in a river valley in Mitsuse, Saga Prefecture. The project restores the spatial clarity of the original timber structure while reconnecting daily life with the surrounding forest and flowing water. Carefully positioned openings, deep eaves, and layered transitional spaces allow light, shadow, and seasonal change to shape the interior environment. Locally sourced materials including cedar, hinoki cypress, reed, granite, and handcrafted shoji reinforce climatic compatibility and material authenticity.

Villa K Private Home

Villa K

Villa K is a private house built in Toyota City, Japan. Villa K stands next to an existing traditional Japanese wooden house and forms a contrast with the older structure. The building is a single continuous space of 5.4 metres in width and about 100 metres in length, surrounded by concrete walls 380 millimetres thick. The heat storage of the concrete keeps the interior cool in summer and warm in winter. The house contains an atelier and gallery for painting and pottery, a pool, a billiards area and a garage. Large rocks removed from the riverbed are used in the landscape design.
