Vinegar Vats

This incredible adaptation of a disused vinegar factory was carried out in an entirely sustainable manner. Not only does it use a natural stack effect to cool the space, its construction was done with a zero waste solution. No skips were used. Everything on site was re-used, recycled, or re-purposed. The basement was converted into an architecture studio with a 3 storey family home above. The vats were cleverly repurposed as planters, workstations, toilets, laundry, and even a fishpond. Natural light pours into the building as a result of removing a third of the roof to create a garden court.

Panorama Villa

Alluding to the structure of a typical Mani village, the concept is conceived as a series of individual stone fragments revolving around the atrium, entrance and living spaces. The rough volumes of the residence open a dialogue with their natural surroundings, while the rhythm of their openings either ensures privacy or invites in panoramic views of the horizon, constructing a direct experience of successive and diverse narratives. The Villa is located in Navarino Residences, a collection of luxury villas for private ownership at the heart of Navarino Dunes resort.

House in Toyonaka

Located in a residential district in northern Osaka, this property is surrounded by closely packed houses and lacks any outstanding views. Due to the adjacent homes, maintaining privacy was of the utmost importance. The aim of the design was therefore to create a stimulating and beautiful space that nevertheless had no large windows and was closed to the outside world.

Basalt

Built for comfort as well as being elegant. This design is truly eye-catching and remarkable inside and out. Features include oak wood, windows made to bring in plenty of sunlight, and it is soothing to the eyes. It is mesmerizing by its beauty and the technique. Once you are in this house, you can't but notice the serenity and the oasis feeling that takes over you. The breeze of the trees and the surrounding with the sun rays makes this house a unique place to live in away from the busy city life. The Basalt house is built to please and accommodate a variety of people.

House for Parents

This house for parents located on Amami-Oshima Island where is severe subtropical climate and often hit by typhoon. To accommodate this condition, a rectangular roof which is supported by 4 meter-span steel framework structure was installed. This roof create environment as if it is comfortable habitat under trees. Concrete walls stand independent from roof structure to achieve floor plan without any restriction by steel columns for the roof. The continuously projecting concrete wall create impression that Living Room is expanding toward the rich external landscape of this island.
