Poly Chief Palace

The façade effect of the sales centerhas extracted the rhythm and proportion of the façade of the old movie theatre site in Workers’ Village. The three-part pattern combines Chinese and industrial details to reflect the solemnity, luxury and grandness of traditional culture, making it a unique and different pattern from ordinary buildings. In terms of space structure, the traditional elements, Four Treasures of the Study, are represented with architectural language respectively: the wall as Paper, moon-like sculpture as Inkstone, infinity pool as Ink, and trees as Brush.

Haishang Plaza

Located in an old residential district of Zhengzhou city, Haishang Plaza is intended to be a premier shopping and entertainment destination of this area. The design incorporates a mixed-use program including Soho, Loft towers, an indoor shopping mall and a large outdoor lifestyle plaza, is committed to bringing vitality to the community and creating a new business model.

Vinegar Vats

This incredible adaptation of a disused vinegar factory was carried out in an entirely sustainable manner. Not only does it use a natural stack effect to cool the space, its construction was done with a zero waste solution. No skips were used. Everything on site was re-used, recycled, or re-purposed. The basement was converted into an architecture studio with a 3 storey family home above. The vats were cleverly repurposed as planters, workstations, toilets, laundry, and even a fishpond. Natural light pours into the building as a result of removing a third of the roof to create a garden court.

Hungarosauna

An important aspect of the investment is scheduling, sustainability and expandability. Adapting to unexpected economic situations. This is also true of landscape architecture and architectural elements. The medicinal water steam chamber, the potable spa water and the swimming pool swimming on the surface of the lake provide a new quality of sauna, which can only be here in Hungarosauna. The building has a cross-laminated bridging beam with a wooden pillar frame. In a homogeneous way, a wood-like statue is covered inside and out with timber surfaces like a tree trunk.

MareNostrum

The meaning of the project in classical Latin, is “Our Sea”. Inspired by the movement of the oars of the fleets of the Roman empire is reinterpreted in the façade of the building. Reinforcing this concept, the design team decided to implement soft waves on the façade generating at the same time an experience of movement for the user. Throughout the 8 story residential building, the movement of the façade generates large balconies that allow the interior space to extend to the exterior. Moreover the form has passive sustainability strategies, such as natural light and ventilation.

Abstract House

The residence utilizes a modern aesthetic while retaining a central courtyard, which evokes the traditional Kuwaiti practice in the building of houses. Here the residence is allowed to acknowledge both past and present, without clashing. The water feature at the steps of the main door sweeps outwards, the floor to ceiling glass helps keep the spaces more open, allowing the users to go between outside and inside, past and present, effortlessly.
