Interpolation

Interpolation is an art gallery designed within Seokchon Lake Park in Seoul. The park contains a lake and two separate ring paths, one inner and one outer, divided by a four meter difference in elevation. The gallery forms an organic passage that links the two paths and creates a new gateway into the park. The building mass is clad in curved aluminum panels, and the deck that meets the landscape is finished in exposed concrete. Ground source heat pumps and roof photovoltaic panels reduce energy use. The intent is to bring art into daily life.

Pixelhouse is a residential building designed as the home of an extended family in Ahmedabad, India. The design balances the need for privacy with shared family life across three floors. Wood, stone, exposed brick and concrete provide thermal mass, while rainwater harvesting, solar panels and double glazing reduce energy use.

The Fifth Element

The house consists of five parallel rectangles. Garage and Spa blocks are displaced to the living volume. The facades facing the forest feature full-size windows that fill the living spaces with light and air. Water installation of the terrace creates a microclimate in the summer heat. The two-storied tower of living room forms vertical axis, which subordinates all the elements of the building and landscape.

Peach Blossom Future Villa

Peach Blossom Future Villa is a group of 56 single family houses set in a mountain scenic area in Anji, Zhejiang, China. The design follows the idea of uniting heaven, earth and humanity. Inspired by the traditional Chinese stilt house, each villa rests on three steel columns, which limit changes to the steep terrain and give a light appearance. Large glass walls form the enclosure and stress the horizontal extension, so the houses appear as glass boxes floating within the alpine landscape. Steel, glass and board finish concrete weather gracefully on the site.

Peloponnese Rural

A plot situated in a remote village of Kalamia, with view to the Gulf of Corinth, is a setting for a family retreat. The morphology of the place led to the decision of creating a house with humble appearance from the street side, while developing in a two-level construction from the garden. Natural materials applied are inspired by industrial feel of the rural Peloponnese traditional stone stables. Built according to sustainable standards with restricted means, the custom-made dwelling has been playing major role in the 2020 pandemic situation, providing its inhabitants safety and comfort.
