At Design Interviews
Interview with Roohollah Merrikhpour : Frank Scott: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?. Roohollah Merrikhpour : How to make a big skateboard mobile and easy to carry? How can we (designers) have a big sketch board everywhere in our small stylish bags?! .Frank Scott: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?. Roohollah Merrikhpour : We wanted to design a mobile and easy to carry big size (A3 or A4) sketch board without loosing any quality of regular sketch boards. "Small but full size!", how can we achieve this in a new product? this was what we worked on. .Frank Scott: What are your future plans for this award winning design?. Roohollah Merrikhpour : We plan to mass produce this product with a new material like aluminum or a new kind of processed wood based material. We may use crowd funding to collect our expected finance for the next step. .Frank Scott: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?. Roohollah Merrikhpour : It took 6 weeks of work on the very first idea to reach to the final prototype. .Frank Scott: Why did you design this particular concept? Was this design commissioned or did you decide to pursuit an inspiration?. Roohollah Merrikhpour : This project started based on a very personal need and an internal motivation. The need for sketching is a well known desire for every design geek and we all suffer that! .Frank Scott: Is your design being produced or used by another company, or do you plan to sell or lease the production rights or do you intent to produce your work yourself?. Roohollah Merrikhpour : We haven't have a plan to sell the rights of our design to a company or organization. We basically design it for ourselves. But if there is a good offer we surely consider it. .
