As a regional headquarters for a major entertainment-related company, the project is distinguished from just an office building. Fulfilling the highly defined master planning guidelines, the building floats up to 13 metres above the ground with a sufficiently landscaped courtyard and a 100-person theatre. The external metallic glass skin allows for privacy on the more exposed faces and presents an aerodynamic appearance. Office areas are openly visible to the courtyard with low-iron clear glass.
We were engaged to design a family home for four and their needs were simply to provide a contemporary home that was suited to the local tropical climate and be sustainable. The main feature for the house is a nine meter high green wall on the dividing wall of the semi-detached dwelling. The lushly planted vertical green wall is a refreshing feature wall, experienced in the bathrooms. The unique location of the green wall means the bathroom has an ambience of being connected with nature.
The height, the transparency and the open spaces are the highlights of this weekend house, built on a private property near the city of São Paulo. The integrated spaces and the transparent windows and large sliding glass panels provide an experience of interaction with the gardens and with the exuberant local landscape. The living and dinner area opens out onto terraces, with spaces for resting and socialization. To give more privacy to the glazed interior spaces the main facade was blinded by a natural stone wall that emphasizes the minimalist style of the house.
Main design driver of the new shopping mall “Horosho!” in Moscow, is functionality. The goal was to fulfill the needs of tenants, to be friendly to visitors and pedestrians, meet client’s needs, be economically sensible and fast in construction, to be respectful to surrounding buildings and site in general and yet to combine all of that in single expressive gesture. The design provides and maximizes public areas, sunlight, provides wide array of dynamic lighting media solutions. As a result of a research an organic and dynamic shape was found which is able to answer all of these questions.
The scheme consists of a three-story gray glazed volume and a sequence of double-curved white coated metallic panels. This set of panels constantly shifts both in width and pitch with a nonlinear rhythm to provide sunlight for interior space and as well to give perception for users inside the building. Giving maximum presence to the context, the overall massing of project applies advantage of the length of street front side to make a continuous extension to the back side of the project.
