Wrapped Volumes

Located on outskirts of an industrial city, Wrapped Volumes caters as a sales pavilion for a developer's residential project. Without any evident immediate context, the pavilion takes its cues from the connecting road. We transformed this progressive movement of the road along the site into a harmonious wrapped geometry. As a result, the structure elevates itself from the ground. Some parts of this wrap form a landscape layer and other a protective skin on the south. The pavilion weaves the landscape and structure, engaging an individual to transcend from exterior to interior spaces.

Best in Black

Best in Black is a project that aims to create a new kind of residential building. The interior design of the apartments represents industrial design meeting Mexican architecture, the materials selected like wood, concrete and marble give the space a warm look and the palate of colors white and black represent the idea of the facade of the interior design. The four facades are clearly inspired in a random placement of the Tetris game shapes forming the walls and windows of the building, creating lighted atmospheres that generate comfort for the user.

Mermaid Town

The continuous undulating roof of the tourist distribution center is not only a tribute to the common saddle mountain wall in the east of Fujian, but also a unity of order among the scattered six small units. However, under the unified roof, the cultural and sports activity center has a number of small blocks, which looks like a miniature city. The boundary of the two buildings is the circular and square ambulatory, which is not only the designer's adaptation and response to Zhou Ning's rainy and cold climate, but also the non-verbal expression of the "fish sacrifice" culture.

The PolyCuboid

The PolyCuboid is the new headquarter building for TIA, a company that provides insurance services. The first floor was shaped by the limits of the site and the 700mm diameter water pipe that is crossing the site underground limiting foundation space. The metallic structure dissolves into the diverse blocs of the composition. The pillars and beams vanish from the space syntax, projecting the impression of an object, while also eliminating that of a building. The volumetric design is inspired by TIA’s Logo turning the building itself into an icon representing the company.
